Following the success of this regular gig over the last 6 month or so we will be back on Friday nights at Monboddo bar at the Point Hotel in Bread Street, Edinburgh. The audience is building for this fun gig with a wide variety of charts from soul to latin covered by the band with the singer Debbie Davis. We play from 8pm till 11.30 and are sometimes joined by other jazzers for a tune or two.
I have to say I am enjoying the different approach to the more soul and funky music that we are playing. The venue is very nice and the staff particulaly friendly and helpful.
Debbie Davis who is singing with the band, has been looking at some new tunes and I think they work well. Steve has been trying out some Hammond B3 organ effects on his new Roland – it is much easier just playing the saxophone!
